Tyseem Lyles Named All American

May 2, 2014

NJCAA All-American Tyseem Lyles

Tompkins Cortland Community College men's basketball player Tyseem Lyles (Health Professions H.S./Brooklyn) has been named a National Junior College Athletic Association All American. Lyles was named to the third team, becoming just the second Tompkins Cortland men’s basketball player ever named an All American. Jude Princivil was the first, honored after the 1994-95 season.

Lyles is a two-time Mid-State Athletic Conference Player of the Year and a two-time selection to the NJCAA All-Region III First Team. He led Tompkins Cortland in scoring both years, including averaging 18.5 points per game this year. He set the College season records for assists and steals this year, and established a new career record for assists. He was tops in Region III in steals, second in assists, and second in three-point shooting percentage (51.9%).

A total of 15 players were honored with All-American recognition on the Division III level, which includes 109 teams.
